Our field trip to Riverheights Terrace was one for the books! As we walked up to the building, the kiddos were amazed at how beautiful the structure was. Some thought we were going into a castle! Once we arrived, we were greeted by many friendly faces who welcomed us with care. In lieu of green and red day, we brought red and green balloons to play with the residents in the atrium. With the tall ceiling, this activity almost seemed magical as the kiddos played with their new friends. Next we went to the activity room to make a Christmas craft out of foam art and read books! The kiddos enjoyed conversing with their new friends. One of the residents shared they had a birthday coming up this week. He would be 99 years old! It was so much fun to watch the kiddos ask great questions and listen to the their stories. Just before we got ready to leave, our friends asked us if we wanted to meet a dancing Santa!! Of course, we accepted this offer and the kind owners of Santa, lead us to the room and we watched him perform a few songs. The kids were amazed!!! The kiddos spoke about the field trip all day, reminiscing about their favorite parts and speaking about the new friends we made. We cannot wait to return next time to see everyone again.
A huge thanks to Riverheights Terrace for hosting us and filling our hearts with some Christmas joy. Merry Christmas to you!
